ComfortView vs Split Tier Workstations

Sit-stand adjustment is only part of a workstation's flexibility. How your monitors move, and the space available around your keyboard, mouse and other equipment, also matter.

In this short video, Steve Reinecke compares a split-tier workstation with a RedRick workstation using ComfortView. Both support seated and standing work, but they take different approaches to monitor positioning and usable desk space. In environments where large sets of displays are utilized to support high-demand workflows, these differences can have a significant impact.

Key messages for a quick read

• Independent monitor positioning. The split-tier example provides independently adjustable monitor and keyboard surfaces. ComfortView separates the monitor mounting system from the desktop, letting users adjust screen height and move the array closer or farther away without repositioning the keyboard surface.
• A continuous workspace. The RedRick example provides room beneath the monitors for a keyboard, mouse, telephone, files and other devices, without a gap between separate desktop levels. Consider how your everyday equipment would fit on the available surface.
• The configuration matters. This demonstration shows one split-tier setup, not every split-tier product. Other designs may offer additional adjustments. Compare monitor movement, usable space and compatibility using the displays and supporting equipment you intend to install.
